February 13th 6 PM
On this Fat Tuesday night, we will prepare our bodies and souls to walk the Lenten Journey path, by garnering strength as we pray for God to heal us and make us whole. Then we may more honestly reflect on our humanness during Lent. We begin our night with a pot-luck meal in celebration before our Lenten fast. In preparation for Ash Wednesday we will make ashes by burning our palm branches .
February 14th 7 PM
”Remember you are dust and to dust you shall return.” We begin the season of Lent...the season of reflection, self-scrutiny, and preparation for redemption. On this night we accept that mark of mourning and repentance.
Palm/ Passion Sunday
March 25th - Services began at 10:00 AM
Enter the gates of Jerusalem with Jesus. We enthusiastically follow Jesus with shouts of Hosanna’s. However, we quickly sense the emotions shift as we begin to face his passion.
What we are celebrating is the wondrous salvation our God brought to pass more than 3000 years ago when he delivered us from the bondage in Egypt? This festival is more than just a remembrance (even as the Lord’s Supper, instituted on Passover night, is not JUST a “remembrance,” but also a participation in the events we commemorate. It is a way for us to claim the story of liberation and salvation as our own…to not let it just rest in the past with our ancestors of faith. We will retell the Passover story using traditional signs and symbols that have helped the Children of God remember the events and meaning of our Exodus. These experiences will help you to discover for yourself some of the deeper meanings and mysteries
March 29th 7 PM
On this evening we gather to
remember the command Jesus gives us, “to love one another.” God’s love is experienced in the final meal Jesus shares with his disciples. God calls us to experience this same love in the first meal of God’s kingdom.
March 30th 7:00pm—Tenenbrae
As the evening draws to a close, the final events of Jesus life casts a shadow of darkness. The act of extinguishing candles symbolizes the impending darkness that enfolds creation culminating in Jesus crucifixion.
April 1st, 2018
Death does not have the final say. The cold stone tomb could not stop life. This is the power of love found in the resurrection. The sober reflection of Lent culminates with the crucifixion of Jesus. Then quietly on this morning the new light reveals a fresh start and a pure
freedom. All are invited to celebrate with profound joy!
Easter Service starts at 10 AM
